Format A USB drive is simply easy and every user can do this by simply Right-click and select format.

But sometimes Windows Users face problems this disk is write-protected, Cant format the drive, etc.

Here follow the below steps to format Read write-protected USB drive using the CMD prompt.

After connecting, check the letter assigned to the USB flash drive.

And click checkbox Create this Task with administrative privileges As shown below image.

Now Windows command prompt will appear on your screen.

The letter J is the drive name.

So, simply press the Enter button.

Now formatting of your Pen drive or USB flash drive will be started.

you gotta wait until 100% is completed.

which means the format has been completed and waiting for your confirmation.

So just press Enter again.
