Windows 11comes preinstalled with Windows Security, formerly known as Microsoft Windows Defender Antivirus.
However, users may be required to turn it off entirely due to several reasons.
For any reason, Windows Defender can be disabled both permanently and temporarily.
If prompted with a UAC, clickYes.
However, Windows Defender will re-enable itself the next time the machine is restarted.
However, this GPO is also reset when the Windows 11 rig is restarted.
Therefore, it is not a means to disable Windows Defender permanently.
However, none of these have worked for us so far.
Before you begin, double-check that you have access to anadministrator account.
In the confirmation dialog box, clickRestart.Restart the PC
Your gear will now restart and boot into Safe Mode.
sign on to the administrator account and continue to the next phase.
Right-punch the folder Platform and clickPropertiesfrom the context menu.
Enter Administrator in the text field below the Enter the object name to select section.
Then click Check Names.
When the field displays the complete name of the user group as in the image above, clickOK.
In the confirmation box, clickOK.Confirm action
Do not close theAdvanced Security Settingswindow.
Your user account has now taken ownership of the Windows Defender files.
Its time to move on to the next phase of the process.
If prompted for a confirmation, clickYes.
The permissions have now been removed successfully.
In the confirmation dialog box, clickRestart.Restart PC normally
The computer will now reboot into normal mode.
Therefore, we insist that you create asystem restore pointor a completesystem image backupbefore proceeding forward with the process.
Press theWindows key + ito initiate the options app.
Click Privacy & security on the left.
Click Virus & threat protection.
Name this DWORD DisableAntiSpyware.
