Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan X Review

The memory didn’t seem to have much overclocking headroom so we left it at 1753MHz (7.01Gbps). This time when testing with BioShock Infinite our overclock provided just 4% more performance which was disappointing.

Cities: Skylines Review

Cities: Skylinesis a game coming in hot. So there’s a surprising amount of excitement and expectation for Colossal’s attempt at fixingSimCity’smistakes. Mostly, it’s good. The Good News Good news first! If you play city-building games to, well, buildcities, this is the best you could get. Above is the result of that week. It’s a huge city, big enough that it’s spawned secondary business centres and some industrial/rural communities. Below, however, you’ll see that it doesn’t even take up half the available territory....

BitFenix Aegis Core MicroATX Case Review

The mATX motherboard tray comes with eight pre-installed standoffs that help speed up installation. The storage options within the case are random and rather non-traditional. There are two 3.5" drive cages and each can support a pair of drives. One is located at the bottom of the case behind the PSU. The position seems strange as it is quite a few inches from the front of the case. However this makes sense as it still allows users to front-mount massive radiators in the Aegis without sacrificing storage....

3-Way Budget Mid-Tower PC Case Shootout

Surprisingly, despite weighing very little, most of the case has been constructed from steel. Only the facade and window are made of plastic. The Carbide 100R is available exclusively in black with or without a case window. For review we have the case window model which is known simply as the 100R. Although the design appears simple, it’s far from boring. The front bezel looks slick and while there are visible I/O connectors, they do not spoil the design....

Homeworld Remastered Collection: Graphics & CPU Performance

Article Index CPU Performance You’ll want a solid CPU for Homeworld Remastered. Interestingly, the LGA2011 processors with their many threads and big caches provide the best results. The Core i3 and Core i5 processors provided strong performance which was comparable to the Core i7-4770K. What is shocking is the fact that the Pentium G3220 beat the FX-8350 by a single frame. Homeworld Remastered is clearly a CPU intensive game, but it really only uses two cores heavily....

Dell Venue 8 7000 Review

Similar to other HDMI dongles, Dell Cast allows users to stream content from an Android tablet. All you need is a free HDMI port and a USB port for power. Combined with the wireless keyboard and mouse, one could easily get quite a bit of work done. On a Samsung 1080p monitor, the image quality was pretty lackluster. Content - especially text - looked blurry, almost as if it had been upscaled to 1080p....

Dell XPS 13 (2015) Review

Article Index The ideal Windows laptop is very hard to find. ….or is it? It has a 13-inch display with a very slim bezel, making it extremely portable. The aluminium shell with a carbon fibre-style interior looks pretty darn good. For a laptop with a 13.3-inch display, the new XPS 13 is mighty small. How did Dell manage to squeeze a 13-inch display into something that should only accommodate 11 inches?...

Silverstone Sugo SG13 Mini-ITX Case Review

The results were taken with an ambient room temperature of 21 degrees. For the stress test we left3DMark’s ‘Sky Diver’ test on loop for 20 minutes. We then waited another 5 minutes and recoreded the lowest temperature as the idle temp. The mesh front panel produced some impressive results. However, those planning to build with this case need to choose their hardware carefully. In fact, with the radiator and fan installed we weren’t able to do it....

Android 5.0 Lollipop Tested: Performance and Battery Life

Here’s how it went down… This article is a long time coming. The first thing to note is that not every version of the one smartphone was created equally. Other variants, like the G900H, are still stuck on Android 4.4.4. The other three were either just about to get Lollipop, or a local rollout hasn’t begun. TheGalaxy Note 3appears on the cusp of receiving an update, while updates for theXperia Z2andZ1aren’t far off....

The Best CPU for the Money: AMD vs. Intel Budget Shootout

Separately, we were surprised by how well the dual-core i3-4360 performed against the quad-core i5-4430. Given the price difference, we would also suggest the i3-4360 over the i5-4430.
